Project C.O.P.E.

  •

Project C.O.P.E. provides school-based mental health support for eligible students. These services are designed to help students develop coping skills, manage challenges, and improve their overall well-being so they can be successful in school.

    Who Qualifies?

Students may be eligible if they are experiencing:

    • Academic difficulties
    • Behavioral or disciplinary concerns
    • Attendance/truancy issues
    • Peer or social challenges
    • Significant mental health concerns (including students experiencing suicidal or homicidal thoughts)

    Services Provided

Students who qualify may have access to:

    • School-based therapy
    • Care coordination (low and high intensity)
    • Psychiatric support
    • In-home therapy services (when appropriate)

    Important Information for Families

    • Participation is voluntary
    • Students ages 14 and older may consent to services; younger students require parent/guardian consent
    • Parent involvement is strongly encouraged
    • Project C.O.P.E. focuses on general mental health support (coping skills, problem-solving, grief, etc.)

    Referral Process

Referrals are submitted by a school counselor or administrator. Once a referral is received:

    • The Project C.O.P.E. team will attempt to contact the family
    • An intake process will be completed before services begin

    When Services End

    Services may end when:

    • The student has met their goals and no longer needs support
    • The student or family chooses to discontinue services
    • There is a lack of participation or communication

Project C.O.P.E. services are designed to provide short-term support and help students return to a stable, successful school experience.
