Project C.O.P.E.

Project C.O.P.E. provides school-based mental health support for eligible students. These services are designed to help students develop coping skills, manage challenges, and improve their overall well-being so they can be successful in school.
Who Qualifies?
Students may be eligible if they are experiencing:
- Academic difficulties
- Behavioral or disciplinary concerns
- Attendance/truancy issues
- Peer or social challenges
- Significant mental health concerns (including students experiencing suicidal or homicidal thoughts)
Services Provided
Students who qualify may have access to:
- School-based therapy
- Care coordination (low and high intensity)
- Psychiatric support
- In-home therapy services (when appropriate)
Important Information for Families
- Participation is voluntary
- Students ages 14 and older may consent to services; younger students require parent/guardian consent
- Parent involvement is strongly encouraged
- Project C.O.P.E. focuses on general mental health support (coping skills, problem-solving, grief, etc.)
Referral Process
Referrals are submitted by a school counselor or administrator. Once a referral is received:
- The Project C.O.P.E. team will attempt to contact the family
- An intake process will be completed before services begin
When Services End
Services may end when:
- The student has met their goals and no longer needs support
- The student or family chooses to discontinue services
- There is a lack of participation or communication
Project C.O.P.E. services are designed to provide short-term support and help students return to a stable, successful school experience.
